Life's Celebrations: My New Year of Life [part 2]

The celebration continues! Today is my actual birthday...YAY! After work, I rushed home to get ready for my second birthday dinner (I went out with my sister Charlene and our friend Joann). I was excited for it because we were going to one of my most favorite restaurants EVER! :)

{Location: Extraordinary Desserts in Downtown San Diego}

I ordered the Birthday Tea Blend to start off. So yummy! For dinner, my go to entree is their smoked salmon panini with avocado, tomato and miso mayo. So delish!
For dessert I ordered their Blood Orange Ricotta Torte. This was my first time trying this flavor and OH MYYYY....sigh. So good! Our server Kimmy (who is awesome by the way), also gave me a little birthday treat- she made me a white chocolate, rasbperry ice cream sorbet. It was the BEST ice cream sorbet I've ever tasted! Seriously...even Joann and Charlene couldn't resist eating it... okay, devouring it! Hahaha!

{Side Note}
I always get their Passion Fruit Ricotta Torte, but they didn't make it that day...I was bummed about it, until I tasted their Blood Orange :)

Extraordinary Desserts never disappoints!
Thank you Charlene for my birthday gift! She bought me this pretty silk/chiffon top from Francesca's. I'm already wearing it for the night, hahaha!

Oh and one more thing...Thank You Joann for my birthday tiramisu cake and for the Victoria's Secret lounge wear!!!

QT With Friends: Lunch, Dinner & a Movie

{Location: Extraordinary Desserts, Downtown San Diego}
After visiting the winery, Charlene, Jen and I headed out for some lunch at Extraordinary Desserts in downtown (one of my favorite dessert places).

{Side Note}
I usually order the Passion Fruit Ricotta Torte for dessert, but they didn't have it today. So...second runner up was the Lemon Praline. Mmmm, 'twas enjoyable as well :)

{Location: Otay Ranch Town Center, Chula Vista}
Later that night, we met up with our VERY good friend Melody. Dinner was at California Pizza Kitchen, where we met up with Analyn and Francia. Afterwards, we all watched The Hunger Games!

It was our little farewell for Melody- she's moving to New York on the 31st of this month. I'll miss her SO much...but not to fret, we'll definitely visit each other! I sense an annual San Diego-New York trip tradition coming :)

{Side Note}
I haven't read the Hunger Games books yet. I figured it was better to watch it first and then read it later so that it would be that much more satisfying. I definitely had tons questions after the movie...so this'll make an interesting read! With that being said, I thought the movie was great...and the cast didn't annoy me ;)

I just got this picture sent to me through fb yesterday from Charlene (this picture was taken from Joann's phone). We celebrated Joann's birthday on 1.13.12 at one of my favorite dessert places! I just love love love their passion fruit ricotta torte cake...SO good!

{Tidbit Fact}
This was Joann's first time EVER eating at Extraordinary...what the heck, woman?!? How can you not have eaten here before? Hahaha :)
