Summer Lovin' Had Me A Blast: Day 1

{Location: Irvine, Ca}

SUMMER is officially here! Time for shorts and sun dresses for this girl! Hahaha :) I took some time off and spent it with my sister and a few of our other friends last week. We sort of wandered everywhere over the course of three days...so here we go with Day 1!

[Quail Hill Trail Head]
My sister and I, along with our friend Joann, decided to have a nice and relaxing day in Irvine. No frills just hills of tall grass and trees! We found a cozy little nook in the park area to sit on our laurels and we were able to get in our girl time...plus a vlog!

My sister will put up the tag we did on her blog (therusticwhim.blogspot.com)...so keep a look out for it. In the mean time, jump & jive! Hahaha :)
{Side Note} These took a lot of shots before finally capturing a good one! We were so tired by the end!

[Irvine Spectrum- Demetrios Bride]

After our vlog session, we went to Irvine Spectrum to do a bit of wedding dress shopping with Charlene at Demetrios Bride. A little surreal, but as we walked through the glass doors, all the lights turned on one section at a time, working towards the middle (it was dim before we walked in). I don't know...it was a pretty cool effect. Anyway, Charlene found two oh so lovely wedding gowns and tried them on. Joann and I anxiously waited in the gallery area. I love how there's a tissue box at the ready!

I chose not to post up any pictures of her wedding gown options for now...prying eyes you know? Hahaha. The wedding gown will be one to wait patiently for. Sorry folks, you'll just have to see her in all her wedding gown glory on the day of!
{Side Note} I am such a sap! Just wait til the day of the wedding...oh dear :)

A Day of Perusing

{Location: Irvine & Old Town Tustin}
I had some free time today, so I took a "Day-cation" trip up to Irvine to hang out with my sister. Also, my friend Jen was in town for her Spring break. Just a chill and relaxing day with these two gals...love it!

{Rutabegorz Restaurant in Old Town Tustin}
Charlene took me out for lunch at this quaint little restaurant called Rutabegorz. This place was too cute and  it had a very home-y feel to it. Plus, their food was made fresh so it was extra yummy!

We ordered their chips and guacamole for our appetizer. Can I just say- their guac rocks! So fresh and creamy.

I ordered a Falafel Wrap- it came with a generous side of hummus, antipasti and a slice of honeydew. Good, good and good! I also got a lemon bar to go for my sweet tooth. I have been on a search for good lemon bars, but could never find any that appealed to my taste palate...until now. Their lemon bar was the perfect combination of sweet and a nice little sour sucker punch at the end as you swallow it down :)

{Michael's Arts & Crafts Store}

The arts and crafts wedding decor shopping continues! I forgot how much fun it is to shop in this store...I wanted to buy loads of stuff, especially since they were having an Easter sale! Lets just say it took a lot of self control while perusing the store aisles :)

For the rest of the afternoon, we decided to go to our favorite thrift shops. Since Jen was in town, we thought we'd bring her along and help her score some great finds :)

{Tomikawa Japanese Restaurant}
We ended our day with dinner at one of our favorite Japanese restaurants, Tomikawa. We made it just in time for their reverse happy hour! Today was great...definitely will try to have more days like this (when I can and when my work schedule permits).
